Embracing the Season

A look at 2024 floral trends

As the seasons change, so do the trends that inspire our designs. This year, the marketplace is celebrating a delightful blend of nostalgic favorites and emerging classics, setting the stage for a vibrant autumn and winter.

Sustainability remains a cornerstone of modern design. Consider how you can weave eco-friendly practices into your creations. From biodegradable foams and containers to locally sourced flowers and foliage, these elements are essential for today’s conscientious consumers. A recent report from the Floral Marketing Fund reveals that customers are willing to pay up to 10 percent more for floral designs sourced from sustainable providers. Embrace this opportunity to enhance your eco-friendly practices.

Autumn Spice captures the essence of the season with its warm, inviting color palette of vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows, beautifully complemented by rich dark blues and gleaming golds. This combination evokes a cozy atmosphere reminiscent of a bountiful harvest, accentuated by the inclusion of pumpkins, pomegranates, and mushrooms—a true celebration of autumn’s richness.

In 2024, bold color palettes and unique textures are making a statement. Take a cue from New York Fashion Week’s top ten fall colors and their “Core Classics,” which include:

  • Rich Earthy Tones: Deep rusts, burnt oranges, and rich browns evoke a sense of comfort akin to our favorite seasonal dishes.
  • Controlled Wilderness: Floral designers are moving beyond traditional bouquets, embracing the “Controlled Wilderness” aesthetic. Experiment with textures to create visual depth by combining velvety flowers like dahlias and roses with thistles, pods, and dried grasses.
  • Transitional Arrangements: As November ends, consider selling transitional designs that can easily adapt from one season to the next. This approach not only enhances perceived value but also encourages creativity in your arrangements.

Frosted Birch reflects the serene beauty of a winter landscape, with its neutral tones that harmonize with champagne and gold accents to create an elegant ambiance that captivates the spirit of the season.

Step into Deerwood Lodge where you can escape the chill and embrace the warmth of a crackling fire. Dark wood tones and stone are adorned with deer icons, pinecones, and mushrooms, creating a rustic holiday atmosphere that invites relaxation and enjoyment.

Tinsel Town offers a festive wonderland, merging traditional red, green, and gold with playful pops of blue. Classic elements like Santa, snowmen, and nutcrackers bring whimsy to this timeless celebration, while shimmering tinsel captures the season’s spirit, igniting joy for all.

Finally, Nature’s Noel embraces a muted Christmas aesthetic, featuring moss, olive, pomegranate, and wine tones. This design encapsulates warm comfort and cozy elegance, adorned with natural elements and homespun touches that evoke timeless charm and holiday joy.
