At the beginning of 2022, the floral industry was grappling with supply chain issues stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic and world events making importing goods difficult. Now, we’re ending the year on a high note, with access to more resources, lower COVID-19 case numbers in the United States, and a sense of comradery in the floral community. Although there is potential for an economic recession on the horizon, our industry-wide accomplishments are cause for celebration.
Throughout the year, we’ve embraced diversity within the floral community. As the holiday season approaches, now is the perfect time to engage with customers through a variety of channels and platforms and acknowledge the many festivities, including Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanzaa, and Boxing Day. Making every consumer feel comfortable in your shop and providing different options to purchase will create strong relationships and encourage repeat visits.
And as the holiday season is the perfect time to involve customers, it’s important to remember that people are also drawn to businesses that positively contribute to their local communities; consider sharing some of the ways you and your staff are putting your best foot forward and giving back through your social media channels. Using your platform to support charitable efforts is just one way to make a difference locally and interact with customers who also support that mission.
Throughout the season, we celebrate our community and what we are thankful for. During the Thanksgiving holiday, our team participated in “Teamsgiving,” where our individual divisions hosted meals with colleagues to show our gratitude for their hard work this year. We hope that you and your family have a splendid and safe holiday season. As always, we are thankful and grateful for our readership and look forward to providing more content and discovering new ways to practice what we preach and engage our readers in 2023.
